Asking for guidance

Hello! I I am new to this group and a beginner in C programming. I
want to know that now should I give more importance in learning
programming fundamentals and program solving or on good programming
practices like including comments in programmes and using functions.
Can anyone help me out there

The most important thing for a new beginner is to learn what is
correct and what is not correct.
In other words, learn correctly the rules for the compuer language (in
this case C).

After you understand these things, then you need to learn how to write
clear, effective, portable code.

After you understand clear, effective portable code, then learn the
fundamental nature of algorithms. Otherwise, you will not only
reinvent the wheel, but your wheel will have sharp corners on it and
fall off when you exceed 18 MPH.

IMO-YMMV.

Yes.

If you want to code in C you need to know the language, and you also
need to know something about coding in general. How you weight these
depends on how you are learning the language.

Learn by practising your craft. In this case this means learning how to
create correct programs based on the C standard language. This will
naturally grow into what "correctnes s" means.

You need both.
When you were learning to write you had to learn how to form the letters,
how to lay out paragraphs, how to spell and so forth. You also had to learn
how to set out your ideas effectively.

Ultimately the fundamentals are more important, setting out the ideas, if
you like. However it is a lot easier for everyone if you also learn how to
use a compiler.

Since thoughts are expressed in a language, you do need to correctly
learn at least one language. You can pick up good programming
practises and algorithms through time by a combination of practise,
reading good books, participating in expert forums like this one, and
thinking by yourself.

This ASP widget will automatically scan remote web sites for certain kinds of content using a screen scraping component and simple pattern matching. The widget will generate reports about what it found and where. I am in search of a comprehensive methodology of using these two object cleanup approaches to get rid of a number of bugs, unpleasantries, and cleanup-ordering issues we currently have in our 4-month old C#/MC++ .NET project project. I'd like to thank in advance anyone who takes the time to read and/or respond to this message. At a couple points, it may seem like a rant against C# / .NET, but we are pretty firmly stuck with this approach...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
