I did it.
I proposed python as the main language for our next CAD/CAM
software because I think that it has all the potential needed
for it. I'm not sure yet if the decision will get through, but
something I'll need in this case is some experience-based set
of rules about how to use python in this context.
For example... is defining readonly attributes in classes
worth the hassle ? Does duck-typing scale well in complex

Does anyone recommend a good source code control software other than Visual
SourceSafe that integrates well with VS2003? One specific requirement we
have is to require that comments be entered on an edited file before it can
be checked in, which through our experience, VSS does not have a
configuration for that kind of requirement.
Thank you,

Yes, I know you've seen the above subject before, so please be gentle with
the flamethrowers.
I'm preparing to enter a discussion with management at my company
regarding going forward as either a MySql shop or a Postgresql shop.
It's my opinion that we should be using PG, because of the full ACID
support, and the license involved. A consultant my company hired before
bringing me in is pushing hard for MySql, citing speed and community...

This may not be a direct C# question, but since I'll be using using C# for
development, I thought I'd pose the question here.
I'll soon be involved in the design of a new software product that will
employ a software "Plug-In" architecture. Taking the plug-in route will
give us a design that can adapt to, as yet, undefined future requirements
(within the scope of the plug-in interface spec of course). In the past
I've done this with...

Sorry if this is a FAQ, but I couldn't find a good summary through
google. What kinds of statistical analysis tools exist in python? I
really just need t-tests, chi-squared test, and other such tests of
statistical significance. A few things point to numpy and scipy, but I
was surprised to find the documentation for numpy is not freely
available, and I thought it would be wise to ask here before I download
it and start hunting through...

Greetings Pythoners!
I hope you'll indulge an ignorant outsider. I work at a financial software
firm, and the tool I currently use for my research is R, a software
environment for statistical computing and graphics. R is designed with
matrix manipulation in mind, and it's very easy to do regression and time
series modeling, and to plot the results and test hypotheses. The kinds of
functionality we rely on the most are standard and...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
