visual studio question

I have read that Visual Basic 6.0 is included with Visual Studio 6.0
Professional Edition. Maybe this is a dumb question but how do I bring up the
VB Editor? I wasn't sure if I installed it even though I know I installed just
about everything on the disk. So I went back to the setup on the disk and under
custom there wasn't a visual basic option.

Is it just that certain components are installed but not the VB editor? I'm
kind of lost. I'm starting a new job in VB and I wanted to be able to use the
same editor at home as they use at work.

Is it just that you can use VB code on a C++ source file? Or do I name it an
html file? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I hope this question isn't off topic. I've studied predominantly C++ in the
past but now have to branch out and can't figure out how to start in visual
studio. Do I just have to go out and purchase Visual Basic 6.0?
Thanks, Tom

Unfortunately, your hopes are now dashed. Even if you'd managed to avoid
mentioning VB it would be off-topic. This NG is about the C++ language, not
specific compilers, Professional Edition or otherwise. This question belongs
in the appropriate MS newsgroup. I don't know which one that is.

Presumably news:microsoft. public.vstudio. general or
news:microsoft. pulibc.vstudio. development are relevant.

I am currently taking a college course in Visual Basic.Net and I am a beginner. I bought Visual Studio.Net 2003 to do my homework at home. I built my first project and e-mailed it to myself at school. When I tried to open it in the lab, I got a message saying I couldn't open it because it was created with a newer version. Evidently the lab is using Visual Studio.Net 2002. My professor doesn't just want the executable file, he wants...

Hi all, I'm afraid this is the second posting of this information as I didn't get a response on the previous post. I will try to shorten my message (i.e. be more concise) in the hopes that it will make it easier for someone (i.e. a Microsoft person) to digest the information and respond to it. I am a C++ and Java developer with over 3 years of industry experience. I've written low level C++ code, in addition to web clients that use web...

I originally had VB.Net standard installed on my computer. I have subsequently installed Visual Studio .Net 2002 on my computer. I have not uninstalled VB.Net. When I look in my Add/Remove programs - there are two entries - one for VB.Net and the other for Visual Studio .Net. Both entries are over 1 GB in size. My question is whether the VB.Net is redundant information

I'm working on a build environment for .NET application where the developers are using visual studio and VSS. In order to pull only the changed modules (and any required dependencies) I want to get a labelled version from VSS. The developers use visual studio and the VSS integration so they don't currently label the code (or are really aware that they are checking in and out of VSS). Is there a mechanism in visual studio that will...

I am not a .NET developer. I want the Developer's Edition of Visual Studio for use with my Access2000 databases. Does anyone have a clue as to where to find it - my office manager says only .NET is available from any websites she's searched. Anybody have a used copy they'd like to get rid of? Is/should it be impossible to get hold of this product? My understanding is that .NET doesn't offer that much as far as Access development is...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
