3-10 minutes, sometimes hangs during refresh. !@#$%. Is any other web
reader for usenet groups?

You'd be better of with using a decent news server, if you can.

There are several web interfaces for usenet but probably non is as
good as Google Groups, e.g. http://www.talkaboutprogramming.com/...comp.lang.c++/

Well, if it lets me post this then thanks. The free newsserver lists
are a waste of time - even if you stick to the allows post "YES" ones
you can't find one that actually does. I spent 4 hours on it yesturday
and gave up.

app using vb .net. I need to interact with a credit card reader. I have
one that sits inline with the keyboard. Works great, except for the fact
that no matter what field the user is in on the transaction page (Name,
Address, Credit Card number) the reader will dump the data at the cursor.

use groups.google but that's become more and more corrupt with Google-only
and Corporate-posting-only Groups over the past few years.
Do a search on "no.flash websites" for example. The first 6+ hits are
from Adobe's corporate macromedia "discussion" groups and all appear to
be moderated to insure that no flash-critical post goes unchallenged.

i have a public procedure in my DataAccessLayer that gets a SqlDataReader
how do i close the reader from inside the DataAccessLayer if I'm returning
the reader to get bound to my GridView? Any code after my return will be
unreachable.

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
