Does anyone know of a good place to search for Usenet news? I used to
use groups.google but that's become more and more corrupt with Google-only
and Corporate-posting-only Groups over the past few years.
Do a search on "no.flash websites" for example. The first 6+ hits are
from Adobe's corporate macromedia "discussion " groups and all appear to
be moderated to insure that no flash-critical post goes unchallenged.
I'd be surprised if Google didn't receive a fat check from Adobe for
ranking this topic in such a corporation-friendly way.
I still need an unbiased source to do research. Any recommendations ?

I am sure there are many people out there who would be willing and
able to create such a thing. Just identify them, send along a Google
sized budget and allow a few years for development.

That's hilarious, Phil. You've gotten straight to the point!
I have a smaller size USENET archive (in the sig) for a few years now and
I can tell that it requires enormous amount of upkeep with all the junk
that gets tossed into Usenet daily.
As far as the OP's desire to get an unbiased search is concerned: you can
go ahead and search my archive if you want but please don't expect
Google's reach and retention. For that you need those small things
mentioned in Phil's post!

Evidently I should also budget some Microsoft/Google sized bucks for
astroturfing.

I still use Google Groups at work because I don't have nntp access at
work. The groups I frequent are on the list that I can access once I am
signed in. If I am looking for a particular group, then I drill down to
the group I want.
Then there's always nntp through a newsreader, or some other Usenet
providers, Supernews and Easynews come to mind.

Does anyone know of a good place to search for Usenet news?
By sending to three groups where the question is grossly off-topic and by
using a probably forged email address, you indicate disrespect for Usenet
conduct, so it would be immoral to try to help you before you learn to
behave.

Use Advanced Search in Google Groups, and specify the relevant Usenet
newsgroups.

That must be why I see so few of your articles.
I apparently missed the memo: Now if you post on Google Groups the post is
only on Google Groups, and doesn't flow to USENET and to sonic and
supernews, etc? This thread has been closed and replies have been disabled. Please start a new discussion. Similar topics |

Google has promised to be a /good/ company.
But everything it has done so far appears to be elitist, and status quo.
Witness:
1. They claim fairness, but yet award the owners of the company a different
class of stock, worth 10 of the common stock. What kind of Missouri
Compromise is this? What's next, those who don't use Google are 3/5th of a

Hi everyone,
I thought of writing a program which finds the greater of two numbers..
of course with a small condition... without using "if" and conditional
operators... I got an idea on how to implement the program... I have an
alternative too... that is to use bitwise comparison in the folowing
manner:
Accept the input
Subtract one number from the other
Check for the MSB(Most Significant Bit) in the result...
See if the result is...

I would like for this to work for all the printf-line functions

The key here is that I would like to get these timestamps on the lines

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
