Acc97.
I have a form which within a subform records machine down time. I have
a total of 8 machines. (1-2-3 ect.) What I have been doing is using a
combo box linked to the record table to select, the reasons based upon
generic terms.
The problem is that I have so many records now, that it takes more
time looking and picking out the correct fault reason than it does
completing the rest of the form!

I am using the following code (created by the wizard) to
allow to bring my form to a particular entery. But when I
edit the entery (ex: put new information into a blank
cell), it puts that record onto the bottom of the list
(even though it keeps its record number).
Also, There are certin names that i click on the list, and
it will not bring it up, rather it brings to the first
record (no matter how many times i try going to that...

Hello,
In Access ADP's that connect to SQL Server databases, any time I have
a situation where I have a combo box in a main form that looks up a
record in a subform, the subform record source has to be based on
either a View or a Table. I can almost always use a View, and it helps
to do this since I can have better control over the size of the
RecordSet of the subform.
There are times when the use of a Stored Procedure would give me...

Hello,
I'm curious if anyone knows of a way (if one exists) to tell a form (in
Access 2002 VBA) to sort on an unbound column of a combo box on the form.
Here's what I want to do:
A combo box on my form contains a category ID (bound column, not visible,
long integer) for the items listed on the form and a description (unbound
column, visible, string.) I can "Sort Ascending" and "Sort Descending" on
the visible description in the...

Hi All
Can anybody pls help me out with this problem.
I have a combo box control which has about 10,000 values in it. These
values in the combo box are called from a different table.
When i use a value(1 out of 10000) in the combo box for a particular
record say Record1, this value should no longer be displayed for the
next new record say Record2 and the combo box should just display only
9999 values. I am trying to do this, just...

Hi Everyone-
I am trying to use a simple macro to set the value of a combo box on a
form, and I can't get it to work.
I have a macro with 2 actions: OpenForm and SetValue. I can open my
form, but I can't get the macro to set the value of a combo box on the
form that opens. I don't need the macro to look up any values, I just
want it to set the value of a combo box.

Hello,
I am trying to create a chart whose underlying query is linked to 2
combo boxes on the same form.
I want to pass the values from the combo boxes into the chart query to
allow the chart data to be manipulated easily.
The combo box uses "Row Source Type" = Table/Query. The "Row Source"
references a query to extract a distinct list of data.

Hello, Everyone,
I'm trying to find information on how to populate a combo
box using a SqlDataReader. I want to be able to set the
value of the combo's value property different then the
combo's text property (what the user will see). Is this
possible with a SqlDataReader?
Thanks

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...
