Some people have suggested the desire for code completion and refined
edit-time error detection are an indication of incompetence on the part of
the programmer who wants such features. Unfortunately these ad hominem
rhetorts are frequently introduced into purely technical discussions on the
feasibility of supporting such functionality in C++....

Hello Everyone,
I have a main form with a datasheet subform that I use to query by form.
After the user selects two criteria on the main form and clicks the
cmdShowResults button on the main form, the subform returns the records
based on the two criteria. The criteria used on the main form are values
selected in two list boxes. When the...

Hi.
I'm very new to MS Access and have been presented with an Access database
of contacts by my employer.
I am trying to redesign the main form of the database so that a button
entitled 'search' may be clicked on by the user and the user can then
search all records by postcode. I want to do this to prevent duplicate
data entry.

I would like to build a website using ASP.NET. I would like website
visitors to be able to download code that I would like to make available to
them and that would be residing on my personal server.
Are there any code samples or books that someone can recommend so that I can
implement this. I would prefer VB.NET code, but I am...

Hi,
I have a table of around 1000 rows; patient records. Each row is
individually defined by a Patient ID number which is my primary key.
I have made a simple form to display patient information for the
secretaries working in the office. I would like them to be able to
easily search through all the records using a combo box, that they can...

I'm working on examples of programming in several languages, all
(except PHP) running under CGI so that I can show both the source
files and the actually running of the examples online. The first
set of examples, after decoding the HTML FORM contents, merely
verifies the text within a field to make sure it is a valid
representation of an...

A quick sanity check, and I think I am correct, but just to make
sure: if you have a bunch of objects that are very much like one
another you can uniquely track them simply by using an ArrayList or
Array, correct? An example: create the object, create an array, the
stuff the object into the array. Later on, assume the object is
mutable,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in...
