Void Function problem

5 New Member
I gotta void function that is taking two string files from the main function and inputting it into the main function....the line of code that keeps showing up as errors is: scanner1(name1, name2)
scanner2(name1, name2)
scanner3(name1, name2)

these are in the main function and the error message i keep getting is saying that the void functions cannot take 2 arguments. How do i allow this to work

I have a hash library where the hash create function accepts functions unsigned (*hash)(const void *a) int (*cmp) (const void *a, const void *b) The insert function accepts a void* key argument, and uses the functions above to store this argument. It returns something (linked to the key) that the caller can...

Hi all, The GNU C compiler allows a void pointer to be incremented and the behaviour is equivalent to incrementing a char pointer. Is this legal C99 or is this a GNU C extention? Thanks in advance. Erik

I searched around but couldn't find any previous discussion on this, so... I have a macro that implements a common memory disposal function, e.g.: #define safe_free(void* pv) if(pv) { ::free(pv); (pv) = NULL; } (Yes, its free() instead of operator delete, but I don't think using the newer memory semantics matters in this case.) Since...

Hi Clers, If I look at my ~200000 lines of C code programmed over the past 15 years, there is one annoying thing in this smart language, which somehow reduces the 'beauty' of the source code ;-): char *cp; void *vp; void **vpp;
