It means you put a semi-colon on the end of your if

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1.  if (result == expValue);
  2.
ending the if statement and making the else invalid at that point.

What's better about Ruby than Python? I'm sure there's something. What is it? This is not a troll. I'm language shopping and I want people's answers. I don't know beans about Ruby or have any preconceived ideas about it. I have noticed, however, that every programmer I talk to who's aware of Python is also talking about Ruby. So it seems that Ruby has the potential to compete with and displace Python. I'm curious on what basis it...

Hi, Does anyone here have a strong understanding for the meanings of the terms "lvalue" and "rvalue" as it pertains to C, objects, and different contexts? If so please share. I've been reading several old posts/threads on the subject, and they never end with a conclusion (people keep correcting each other and disagreeing).

Hi! I don't want to use eval() in order to parse a user-supplied formula. What alternatives do I have? PHP has no standard functionality for tokenizing or parsing expressions in this regard. Here is a simple example: The user supplies the following formula in string format, "a = (6+10)/4", and the script needs to find out what the value of 'a' is.

I am learning STL and write my own simple codes to test the examples. When I compile (g++ -c -o A.o A.C) I got "A.h:13: error: parse error before `<' token". This must be a simple problem, just that I cannot see it. Please, anyone help me to figure it out? Thanks. // A.h class A { public: A(); int getA();

Hi, I was wondering if we could parse or do something in the executable( whose source language was C). How can I use some scripting language like perl/python to find out the information about the executable ? Is it possible ? Also, how does the compiler add inling to the program ? I know that whenever it sees"inline" in front of the procedure name, it inlines it. But if we give the -finline options, it inline all the procedures ? How

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
