I'm realizing I didn't frame my question well.
What's ***TOTALLY COMPELLING*** about Ruby over Python? What makes you jump
up in your chair and scream "Wow! Ruby has *that*? That is SO FRICKIN'
COOL!!! ***MAN*** that would save me a buttload of work and make my life
sooooo much easier!"
As opposed to minor differences of this feature here, that feature there.
Variations on style are of no interest to me. I'm coming at this from a...

This is something I've been looking at because it is central to a currently
broken part of the KDevelop new application wizard. I'm not complaining
about it being broken, It's a CVS images. Such things happen. The whole
subsystem is going through radical changes. I don't really want to say
what I think of the code just yet. That would influence the opinions of
others, and I really want to know how other people view these things,...

After browsing though many newsgroups articels I'm still not shure how
operator precedence, operator associativity, sequence points, side
effects go together. Currently I have the following view:
An expression
a = b() + c() * d++;
can be transformed with the rules of operator associativity and
operator precedence into a tree

Can we consider () unary operator when calling a function, in exps eq.
f(), ( 1 + 2). But when we call function f( 10 ) it is a binary
operator. Even if we pass f( 10, 20) as we are using , operator there
one operand will be there for ()?
And Unary operators like !, +, -, ~, ... are said to be having
associativity right to left which means that we can write, (but not
allowed)
1. 2!
2. !2

I know the basic definition of a sequence point (point where all side
effects guaranteed to be finished), but I am confused about this
statement:
"Between the previous and next sequence point an object shall have its
stored value modified at most once by the evaluation of an expression.
Furthermore, the prior value shall be accessed only to determine the
value to be stored."
Can someone give me examples of expressions that "barely"...

hi
According to the standard these are how we define sequence points:
*the call to a function ,after the arguments have been evaluated
*the end of the first operand of the following operators :
{logical AND :&&

In a function call like
printf("%d,..",++i,++i,..)
can we consider every ++i as a Full Expression? And if it is a full expression, it means there is a sequence point after every ++i. So, uncertainty exists only about order of evaluation of arguments and not about the side-effects of each of the ++i expressions causing Undefined behavior. I just want to know whether such function calls cause Undefined Behavior or just Unspecified Behavior. If...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
