Debug tip needed for watching large arrays

I use Visual C++ 6.0.
I can watch small two-dimensional arrays by using something like

myarray[0],10
myarray[1],10
..
..
..
myarray[9],10

in the watch window, expanding each of these and copying to a
spreadsheet. However this becomes impracticable for a large array that
I want to watch.

Does anyone know of a tip or addin that will allow me to output a large
two-dimensional array into a text file or spreadsheet?

Thx.

Why to look for a thrid party tool?
you can write a simple code for output'ng to a text file. But that will
be static.

You can also try quick watch window. You can write expressions in quick
watch window.
But again, i dont think its resizable in VC6.0, it's resizable in vc7
and 8.

This again is not a question about C++, but specific to using visual
studio.

I have a problem that I am trying to solve. We have a huge product with a whole lot of ASP and VB code. VB code is all ActiveX dlls which are used by ASP app. When I attempt to add features or fix bugs, I like to execute the dlls in debug so I can see what is going on. (Some folks in my org seem to have this kinda wacky bias against debugging, as if *real* programmers should not need a debugger. Whatever, it is the fastest way for me to get...

DB2 500G database, Wintel, heavily loaded OLTP (5M+ transactions a day; all transactions are extremely small, all selects are controlled (no ad-hoc), 99% of all selects are very small (no table scans, index scans are very limited in size) ). Write performance is generally more important than read performance, read performance of heavy queries (the ones with table scans) is not important at all. Question: how to spread data across...

Hi I'm about to upload my site and I have switched to release version. Is that enough or do I still need to disable <compilation defaultLanguage="vb" debug="true" /> the debug="true" in the .pdb file? Is the .pdb necessary for the release version? Thanks a bunch. Dara

I realize that arrays have worked this way for ages, but why do we have to continue with the old ways? It would really be nice if you could add a new row (element) to an array one at a time (as required). In some cases, the programmer doesn't know how many objects that will be loaded into an array until runtime. I know you can process the source to find out how large it is and use this to update a variable that was used to initialize...

Dear Reader, what efficient ways are there to OR two large memory regions? I'm especially interested in applying this operation to two large character arrays. I know memset and memcopy lets you initialise or copy this arrays very fast, but are there similar functions for bitwise OR? Thanks for your help!

This is kind of a question about C# and kind of one about the framework. Hopefully, there's an answer in there somewhere. :) I'm curious about the status of 32-bit vs 64-bit in C# and the framework classes. The specific example I'm running into is with respect to byte arrays and the BitConverter class. In C# you can create arrays larger than 2^32, using the overloaded methods that take 64-bit parameters. But as near as I can tell,...

First off, I am not sure if this belongs in this group or the C# group. It seems more like a C++ problem to me. Anyways... I have a C# project which links in an unmanaged C++ DLL, both built with VS2005. I am having a problem where the C# program is making a call into the C++ DLL which new's a large class. For a class of a certain size the new is failing. Here's somewhat of an example of what I am doing: // Start C# program code...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
