I've got an application that uses Pthread to do threading. Mostly Im using
Condition Variables and the associated function calls:
- pthread_cond_wait()
- pthread_cond_signal()
- pthread_cond_broadcast()
My boss says we cant use Pthread because of licensing issues (LGPL) .. we
can only use Native Win32 threading/mutex functions.

or there can be some case such that 4 threads on one process and other

Hey, i am trying to develop a game, and I am using OpenGL and pthread.
(on Ubuntu, so i also use the X library.) Now i have a problem. I have
initialized OpenGL in the main thread, and i want to repaint 30 times
every second (the usual framerate). Now i programmed a timer, which was
able to wait for 30/1000 seconds. That happens in another thread, and
after the delay (nanosleep, from the time.h header), it calls the paint()

Hi,
I have a client/server application, using one thread/client approach.
I see very high context switch/sec. What are the ways to reduce it? Each
thread sleep longer in its endless loop if not reducing thread?
On the same machine, I also run a mysql server. I can see same amount thread
in mysqld, seems mysql is also using one thread/client. But its
context/swith is much lower. How can I get same performance?
