Celtic Knots vs Spaghetti

In any kind of communication and language, even in computer
programming. We can see a difference between total spaghetti and
celtic knot work. But it is easy to confuse the two, because sometimes
a ball of spaghetti still makes sense and sometimes celtic knot work is
total nonsense. I don't look at religion as spaghetti, and I don't
look at my own writting as spaghetti. The philosophers, thinkers, and
intellectuals who create beautiful Celtic Knots have a way of seducing
everyone into believing them because of the beauty in their language.
When archaic writing, common language, and crazy talk usually gets
ignored and flamed even outside of usenet. But Carl Jung wrote that
even crazy talk can contain messages which are important and relavent,
and we all need to be sensitive to the fact that people like me can't
express language as beautiful and as complex.

But if you look at physics like String Theory, you can tell that even
though it is a beautiful piece of knot work, it is only expressing
theorys in physics which are already understood. So it just shows that
over complicated, exagerated, and prolonged conversation isn't always
the ideal way to communicate.

Wikipedia is a great search engine because it is written in every day
language, and you can read about subjects like mathematics and
understand them without untying any complicated knots. That's the way
my mathematics professor is at College. She facillitates my
understanding of the complex texbooks which are only covering simple
introductory calculus.

And I want to encourage all of you to work on your knot work, and to
stop exagerating when you communicate. And to understand that there is
a time and a place for brevity, and a time for lecturing.
Thoughts to think about!

Hi all, somehow I'm going nuts with this authentications inside IIS6, but from the beginning: We have a W2k3 Server running IIS6 with an application running as NetworkService. The Authenticationmode on this Web is integrated Microsoft. Up to now, everything worked fine, but we want to add a new function, which is getting me into problems.

I want to use this algorithm but can't figure it out, I never used BASIC. I tried translating it but got lost in the gosubs and "for i - 1 to ... nexts". I have figured out that FNU(X) is degree to radians, and FNY is a modulo, but those are not what get me confused, it's just this section here. Anyone in here with "old school BASIC" experience who can unravel this for fun? :) 1740 DEF FN Y(X) = ATN(SQR(1 - X * X) / X):Y = 0:MO = 360...

You know what I have to say to the giant spaghetti monster? Do you want to know? Do you? Well I'm tired of sucking on your spaghetti and chewing on your fresh meat balls! It isn't only about writing open source code that's free. That's obviously nice. But the Open Source code just facillitates all of this negative energy in the world, the same as the Windows Operating system and the Giant

This may or may not be a simple problem to solve, but to me its seesm complex, so I will try and be as succinct as possible. The Scenario ------------- I am using a DataGrid to display data from different table stored in an SQL Database. Depending on the Table, I bind the data to the grid which successfly allows me to display and edit the contents. So far so good. However, I want to be able to alter the css styles for the header...

I did program in BASIC for more than 20 years and for me it's still the ultimate programming language. Unfortunately, I was forced to upgrade to C++ and now I'm confused. While programming in BASIC, my favourites were GOTOs and sometimes GOSUBs and spaghetti code was my trademark. How can I write spaghetti code in C++???

Hello all, I would like to bring to your attention a concept and a term for it that I think is long overdue. But first: In the bad old days of programming, before subroutines were even available, people used to write "spaghetti code", which was an unreadable, unmaintainable mess of "goto" statements.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
