We want to be able to print HTML or PDF files to a given printer from
Python in a kind of batch mode (without opening a preview window or
printer dialog for each file). The printer is on a network, but for
testing purposes I have connected it to my desktop via LPT1. I can
easily print a text file from Python using:
os.system("copy some.txt LPT1")
And as expected, using this function with "some.html" simply prints the
html source. (But...

This is the approach I used to automate printing of Microsoft Access
reports to PDF format i.e. unattended and without annoying "Save As..."
dialogs, and - more importantly - without having to use a commercial
program such as Adobe Acrobat and its associated API.
The technique uses Ghostscript and Redirection Port Monitor - two free
programs for creating PDF documents provided free by Russell Lang. The
actual automation requires VBA...

I C# code prints very slow as compared to a third party barcode printing
software. That software prints approximately 10 labels in 2 seconds while my
C# code prints 10 labels in 5 to 6 seconds. And this differences increases
with the increase number of labels.
The code is as follwods:
Here rdr = OleDbDataReader
Font is Times New Roman, 12pt

Well, hopefully that title get someones attention.
In this old gwbasic program I've converted I *have* sucessuflly converted
it to print to a file and the output is acceptable. From there I have
printPreview and (what is it) PrinDocument working.
All of the references I've found (to include several books) show that
method of printing ... my question - is it not possible to print the
document 'on the fly' to allow proper paging, page...

Hi all,
I'm in need of a component that allows for printing a .pdf file, while
assuming the identity of a windows account of choice. This is absolutely
necessary, as the account is used to direct the print job to a specific
mailbox on the printer.
Basically, I'd like to create a thread, have it assume a specific windows
identity (which may be a different one for each print job), and invoke a
method on an in-process component that...

I am trying to print a graphic file (tif) and also use the PrintPreview
control, the PageSetup control, and the Print dialog control. The code
attached is a concatination of two examples taken out of a Microsoft book,
"Visual Basic,Net Step by Step" in Chapter 18.
All but the bottom two subroutines will open a text file, and then allow me
to use the above controls, example 1. The bottom two subroutines will print
a graphic file, example...

I have written the below class for printing out large jpg files (1
page wide, multiple pages high) over multiple pages. The class will
get instantiated multiple times at once by a windows service.
For each page that the class prints, it gets visibly slower, when the
third document, third page and onwards starts to print, it takes over
20 seconds a page, am I doing something wrong, or is this the wrong
way to go about the task (could be...

I am pulling my hair out trying to print various objects from a .net

My apologies for cross posting but I need an answer and my previous

I am trying to do is print a document to a named printer.
If I use a StreamReader then I get an output to the printer. This

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
