Is there any interest in a (hypothetical) standard graph API (with
'graph' meaning a network, consisting of nodes and edges)? Yes, we
have the standard ways of implementing graphs through (e.g.) dicts
mapping nodes to neighbor-sets, but if one wants a graph that's
implemented in some other way, this may not be the most convenient (or
abstract) interface to emulate. It might be nice to have the kind of
polymorphic freedom that one has with,...

Hi all,
I have 2 applications one in VB.net and the other in VC6. I need to
pass data between them. How can I do it? what's the best way to

Any comment will be appreciate.
Thank you.

Hello folks, I don't know what they've done to the ordinary ASP newsgroup, I
hope you can answer this question. I am trying to make this piece of code:
If Len(Trim(primary))=0 Then
SQL(1)="Spice = '" & spice & "' And Type = '" & dish_content & "'"
ElseIf Len(Trim(spice))=0 Then
SQL(1)="Primary_Dish_Type = '" & primary & "' And Type = '" & dish_content

ElseIf Len(Trim(dish_content))=0 Then
SQL(1)="Primary_Dish_Type = '" & primary...

I'm working on an image segmentation algorithm. An essential part of the
algorithm is a graph to keep track of the connectivity between regions.
At the moment I have a working implementation, but it's not flexible
enough anymore and I need something more advanced. I already have a data
structure in mind, but I don't know how to implement that nicely in C++.
// Main class which holds the lists with
// edges and vertices. These lists are...

Here's one that should probably have the sub-heading "I'm sure I asked this
once before, but ...".
Two users are both looking at the same data, from a database. One user
changes the data and commits it. How does the other user get the updated
view without polling for changes? Is there some sort of callback mechanism
that can be set up on the dataset or connection?
TIA

What would give better performance, serializing a multidimensional array
and storing it in a single entry in a table or storing each element of
the array in a separate table and associating the entries with the entry
in the other table?
Having a separate table would result in two queries instead of one, but
you wouldn't have to deal with the overhead of serializing and
unserializing data.

SAX or DOM, graph processing.
It is my fist application in XML or I should say it will be.
Problem features.
A xml file wile cover a huge graph structure. In fist sections will be
defined vertex and than next edges. More or less like that. In whole
doc will be one more section, but I think that sections will cover less
than 5% of whole .xml.

Hi All,
Currently I am working on a generic graph library so I can do various
graph based analysis for various projects I have ideas for. Currently
I am implementing Graph as a wrapper around a dictionary. Currently my
implementation works like this:
t = Graph()
n1 = Node("Node1")
n2 = Node("Test2")

Having plotted a graph from x,y co-ordinate to x,y co-ordinate, the graph
disappears immediately (after the last plot). Writing " " to a label, in
between subsequent plots, solves this problem. Could someone please shed
some light on the cause of this?
Thank you,
Adrian.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...
