reading and writing to the video frame buffer

I'm on Windows XP using Visual C++ 6.0.

I need to capture the image in the video frame buffer,
modify it by putting a small graphic along the bottom
sixteenth of the image, and write it back to the video
frame buffer for display in somewhat real time.

Any leads to working code or function calls in openML,
openGL, or other would be most appreciated. A solution
comparable to the openGL DMbuffer extensions for
XFree86 and IRIX operating systems would also work perfectly.
Thank you -

This is off-topic here where we focus on *standard* C++ language and

Hello, First let me tell you that I'm very new to C# and learning as I go. I'm trying to write a client application to communicate with a server (that I didn't write). Each message from the server is on one line (\r\n at end) and is formed as - each of which is seperated by a space. Arguments with spaces in them are enclosed in quotations. So, I'm able to open a connection to the server. When I send a message to

Hi, I'm working on project where I need to grab video from an Axis IP camera. This camera send a stream of a multipart message on HTTP. I write this code (at the bottom of the message) to read and uncompress each jpeg images. I call nextFrame() 24 times per seconds (or every 0,0416 sec.) to read the next image that arrived. Everything works well but one thing. My problem is that running nextFrame() took, most of the time, more then...

Note: My apologies for repeating this post from last week, but my nospam alias and profile account were incorrect. I think I have fixed this, so hopefully this post will trigger MS into a response per their MSDN policy. -------------------- I have a web site under .NET 2.0 that renders videos using the Silverlight media player. The web page looks like this: <%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeBehind="video2.aspx.cs"

Hello, I'd appreciate your suggestions about this drafted application for video editing. It is just the first idea, it is (barely) working but can be improved a lot! Find the code attached below. The main goal is to play an avi, averlap an annotation/image and save the new avi. Thank you very much for your help and comments :-) // Avi PostEdit - Annotation Re-capture // Initial drafted code developed by giulio8 - 22/6/2009

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
