Is there a way to catch file errors while writing
to a file using ofstream?
For ex., if the file is deleted or permissions changed
by another process after it is opened,
or when the disk is full.
I couldn't figure out which members could be used
to check for these types of errors.
I tried the good(), bad(), fail() etc.,
after writing to a full disk, deleted file etc.

In the code I supplied before this one, the cause of the problem is an
access violation error. When I run the debugger it skips into what I
can only assume is the compilers version of my code. And I don't know
where the problem lies in the code. Can anyone run it through there
own compiler please and tell me where and what the problem is.

I have a project which needs to open hundreds to thousands of files for
writing. The following is a simplified test program I wrote to see if I
can use a map<string, ofstream> object to keep the list of ofstreams. I
need to have them open simultaneously for writing -- I have millions of
rows of data to write to them so opening and closing all the time will
be unacceptable in efficiency.
The following program compiles but failed to run....

function to look up an ID in a table. The function returns True if it can
find the ID and create a recordset based on that ID, otherwise it returns

I am creating a new MS Access DB in code, which works fine. I then try to
open it & set a password. I keep getting an error that the DB is already open
by my machine's Admin account. In reality it is not actually open.
Here is a look at my code for creating & then setting the Password.
