Hi,
I ran the code below on two different versions, 4.0.14 and 4.0.16
respectively, both running RH 7.3 on intel.
In version mysql server version 4.0.14 the SELECT privelege suffices
for "optimize table", but (seemingly) the server version 4.0.16
requires INSERT as well.
Is the INSERT privelege necessary for performing optimize in mysql

I am porting some of my buffer class code for C++ to C#.
This C++ class allocates a block of memory using
m_pBuffer=new BYTE;
But since the class is also used for pointers for funtions that uses raw MMX
and SSE power, the starting pointer MUST be starting at a 16 byte memory
boundary.

This is one of the first obstacles I encountered when getting started with
C++. I found that everybody had their own idea of what a string is. There
was std::string, QString, xercesc::XMLString, etc. There are also char,
wchar_t, QChar, XMLCh, etc., for character representation. Coming from

Hi everybody,
Is there any SIMPLE way to convert from UTF-16 to UTF-32? I may be
mixed up, but is it possible that all UTF-16 "code points" that are 16
bits long appear just the same in UTF-32, but with zero padding and
hence no real conversion is necessary?
If I am completely wrong and some intricate conversion operation needs
to take place, can anyone give me some primer on the subject?

I am reading 16 bytes from a BIN file at a time and stroing inside a vector.
Vectors are made up of char *.
Now when im iterating through the vector im stroring those 16 bytes inside a buffer.
My ultimate aim is to store entire BIN file into a SAFEARRAY.
But before i need to transfer to a VARIANT.
im running a for loop to transfer 16 bytes 1 by1 from buffer to VARIANT.
My question is whether variant copies 1 by1 or takes complete 16 bytes...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
