Hi,
I'm trying to execute a GUI application from visual basic (named
PathProx.exe). this pathprox.exe is linked to different files that are
present in the same directory as pathprox. when i'm trying execute
pathprox.exe directly, i could run the application without any errors,
but when i'm executing the same using visual basic with the following
code, pathprox.exe is unable to link with those files. its giving some
errors. i dont have...

I seem to remember there's a java function for executing commands on the
native system (UNIX in this case) but cannot remember which. Anyone know?
Also, is it possible to grab the results of the command back into the java
app?
Example:
1. Execute the 'ls -l' command on the unix machine
2. Grab the reults back into a variable

I've got a .BAT file that I use for executing various MS Access apps that I
wrote way back in the days of 2.0.
It's evolved over time, but it still contains a number of possible paths to
MSACCESS.EXE, tries them all, takes the first one it finds, and dies if none is
found.
Seems to me like at some time or another I was able to clone this .BAT file and
implement it with no path. Something about MSACCESS being a registered
application.

I want to read an ini file which is located in the same dir as my .exe file.
But how can I do that without having to have the excact same dir for all my
program installations.
Let me try to elaborate:
PC 1 has my C# program lying in C:\Application\Csharp.exe
Here I need to read my ini file in C:\Application\csharpini.ini
PC 2 hs my C# program lying in X:\Programs\Csharpprogram\Csharp.exe
