I was simply querying if Jonathan knew the context since it seemed to me
that he might be implying that no offence worth worrying about was
committed.

My own view is that an offence worth worrying about was committed. I am,
however, more than willing to accept the apology that was offered.

Dear moderator,
comp.lang.c++ isn't moderated, that's probably why, whatever mistake
you made, slipped through.

What inconvinience?
So I am really sorry for the mistake.
What mistake?

What happened? And who do you apologize to (given that the group isn't
moderated)?

In the future it would help if you could provide some context...

And who the hell are you exactly? The moderator of an open
non-moderated group?

No-one at all. I was simply clarifying that I did not favour the course of
action imputed to me by an earlier poster, namely:

"Right, get 'im up against the wall. We've no quarter for that sort of
rubbish here."

After working in c# for a year, the only conclusion I can come to is that I wish I knew c. All I need is Linux, the gnu c compiler and I can do anything. Web services are just open sockets hooked up to interfaces. The Gtk is more than enough gui.

Hi! I'm very new to ASP.NET and really need some good advice from experts here. I'm creating a web application for my company now. This application has 2 parts. 1 part for the customers to access. The 2nd part is for our staff to access only. My director hopes to make the 2nd part to be something like an intranet, such that only our company's computers (maybe only 1 or 2 in the company) can login to this part of the application. 1. My...

Sorry about the future-post group. I've noticed a large increase in the number of general Windows questions hitting this NG lateley and thought I'd try a test to see if anyone actually reads it. I've never future-posted before and won't again, but thought it might be worth a shot to see if it helps at all. Those of you who know me, know I follow NG netiquitte. Again, sorry for the inconvenience.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
