Cursor Movement

Hi,
Is there exists some function for controlling the cursor movement in
C++. With control of cursor movement I mean, is there exists any
function that let me to relocate the cursor as per coordinate values
given by the user.

The original poster didn't say anything about Windows. Your reply is
off topic ( and may not be what the original poster was asking anyway
), as well as the original post since C++ doesn't know anything about a
cursor.

I don't know if a "does it exist" question would be considered off-topic
since it is about the language. The fact that the answer is "no" doesn't
affect topicality (IMO). :)

Now going beyond that bit of information *would* be off-topic...

Hi, I'm trying to limit the movement of the mouse cursor in using a VB app. The idea is to stop the cursor straying on to the second monitor of a dual screen set-up (i.e. a projector) while this program is running. I've found and have been working with Knowledge Base Article 179192 (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;179192) which limits the mouse movement to inside a form, but I'd like to adapt this to be limited...

I having a difficult time here trying to figure out what to do here. I need a way to scroll through a recordset and display the results with both forward and backward movement on a web page(PHP using ADO/COM).. I know that if I use a client side cursor all the records get shoved to the client everytime that stored procedure is executed..if this database grows big wont that be an issue?.. I know that I can set up a server side cursor...

I have set onmousedown to change the cursor, but this setting is ignored (IE 5.5; NN 6.1 on Win 2K Pro) until the mouse is either moved or the mouse button is released. On Opera 7.01, the setting seems to be ignored completely, even when I try with window.setTimeout. So my two questions are: (1) Most important: Is there anything I can do so that I don't have to wait for the next mouse event before the cursor gets repainted. (2) Why...

How can I get the coordinates of the mouse cursor in Mozilla browsers as well as Opera and IE6? I'm struggling to understand how to capture mouse movement events with Mozilla/Netscape/Firefox and I've Googled so much my brain hurts. http://www.ghpkendal.co.uk/TestPages/Test.htm Move your cursor over the yellow area and you should see the mouse coordinates echoed above.

Hi all, I am making a DirectInput application wich must report correctly the cursor position in windowed mode (it means it has to be the same as Microsoft Window´s cursor position). First of all, I get Windows System Mouse Speed by using the function : SystemParametersInfo(SPI_GETMOUSESPEED, 0, &m_nMouseSpeed,0); After I am reading the last Windows cursor position with GetCursorPos. Then I read all mouse buffered data using...

Hi guys, I have a problem with the cursor, in particular I'd like to change it at a certain time. I have a simple html page where I move a div depending on the mouse movement. I get mouse x coords by window.event.clientX and set the div.style.left value. Everything works perfectly, but on some slower computers it seems to be too much and the motion is a bit choppy, which I dont mind. What I do mind is while its "thinking" it displays the...

I have the opportunity to rescue a project that uses a mouse to sense the relative position of a machine. The hardware is built...just needs to be programmed. Stop snickering!!! I didn't do it...I just gotta fix it. I need to make some calculations on the measurements and VB6 is my language. Yes, the system mouse will corrupt the measurement, but it's an auditing function and that's acceptable.

I am trying to find how windows translate the input from a HID device to an actual windows message; specifically, the mouse. I am trying to figure out how when the mouse moves the process windows takes in order to ensure all windows receive the notification that the mouse moved and how windows moves the mouse cursor. What process handles the movement of the mouse cursor and at what point does windows move the mouse cursor vs posting the...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
