Dynamic analysis tools information

Dear reader,

Are there any widely used dynamic analysis tools which are used for
detecting errors in programming, for example null dereferences,
deadlocks, etc..

Some of the tools which I could know are Daikon, *J, MAc JAVA, Delta
Debuggers. Infact all these tools provide runtime information. Are
there any tools like Purify (in C for memory based errors, array out
of bounds etc).

Can any one give information regarding the runtime analysis tools for
error detection in C++ and JAVA.

Thanks,
Vipin

All these things depend upon which host/target platform and
architecture you are using... So first of all you should tell us,
which ones you use. Addtionally probably a newsgroup apropriate for
this target would probably give better results to this question.

In particular looking for load testing and concurrent connection analysis to see where site might be heavy or pages leave connections open! Can anyone recommend good testing software that can give information on the above... Thanks in advance

I'm working on a project that has a website with some streaming video. We're tracking clicks on the custom video player (Windows Media Player) to a mysql database (requirement). Is there a tool/package out there (free or pay), that would allow us to generate reports against the database? The reports are going to marketing people so they need to produce pretty graphics. That's not a requirement as far as I'm concerned, but it would be...

I don't care what .net language this come in but I really need to determine if a disk is dynamic or basic. I have posted something in the WMI group but no one knows how to do it. Does anyone have any idea how I can determine this? At this point I don't care if it is a third plugin freeware app I use that writes it to a text file that I could read out. Thanks!

Hello, I would like to be able to accept a format string in the form of say {0:D2} as an input from a dialog box, and then dynamically format the output string based on this new format specifier. So if I have something like this in my code: String.Format("The number will look like this {0:D2}",3); It would give:

Hi, I am writing a web custom control that displays a dynamically generated image. Apparently I need to register an HTTP handler in web.config. Is there any way to register the handler programmatically to avoid messing with web.config? Thanks

I'm hoping someone here can point the way toward a fairly specialized topic. I have large amounts of content that need to be classified. Irrelevant or "uninteresting" (by our criterion) articles need to be disposed of. "Interesting" articles should be tagged with a number of points of metadata. As much as possible, I would like machines to do this work. Fairly dumb ways of doing this might include using our existing databases/metadata as...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
