Maybe I ask something OS depended but maybe not. So I ask:
I want to run an external program from my C++ program.
I want stdin of external program constructed from a C++ string in my
program.
I want stdout of external program constructs a C++ string in my program.
Is this possible without intermediate temporary files?

Hi,
Using fgets() I can read from stdin and with fputs() I can write to
stdout. Now I have two programs, one writing to stdin and the other
one reading from stdin. And I would like the second program to read
the characters the first program has written to stdin, but I don't get
it how to do this.
The program which writes to stdin:

Hi there
At the moment I am writing a GUI front-end that in the background is to call
some scripts on a Unix box. The GUI has to be written in Visual Basic (yes I
said the VB word...sorry! :-) )
The big issue is that the command line utility that has to be used in order
to access the Unix box asks for a password (you can send the user ID as a
parameter). I can get the password securely from the user in the GUI...but
I have to somehow...

Hello!
My application has to use external native library writing to stdout and
stdin. My goal is to redirect output within running process (no chance to do
that in child process - Process class redirection is useless in that case)
and I would like to do it without reverting to C-run time library P/Invoke
calls.
Any ideas how to do that?

I'm trying to write a simple commandline wrapper: a script that runs
another program as a child and relays unbuffered stdin and stdout
to/from the child process, possibly filtering it.
The usefulness of such a program lies in the filtering stage, in a
possible integration with readline, or in other interface enhancements.
Still, I'd like to discuss with you the unfiltered, unembellished
version, because I'm not satisfied with it and...

I'm looking for a C/C++ library that can get access to the stdin and
stdout of a process. I may invoke a external program in a C/C++
program, but how do write data into the stdin of the external program,
and read data out from the stdout of the external program?
Suggestions are much appreciated.

I'm trying to perform following type of operation from inside a python
script.
1. Open an application shell (basically a tcl )
2. Run some commands on that shell and get outputs from each command
3. Close the shell
I could do it using communicate if I concatenate all my commands
( separated by newline ) and read all the output in the end. So
basically I could do following sequence:
1. command1 \n command2 \n command 3 \n

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
