There are many ways to do this. Depends on whether
the data is in ASCII or binary. The binary solution
may depend on Endianism.

Write a function to read in a structure. Call this
function for each structure in the array.

Structures can be read either as a whole unit or
each field read individually.

Without more information, it is hard to get more
specific. Try reading the FAQ below. If you need
help, post your code and indicate how it is failing
and where the problem is.

Below is part of a code I have for a database. While the database table is created correctly (if it doesn't exist), and data is input correctly into the database when executed, I have a problem when reading out the data into the PHP variables / array. It should be displaying the information out in the following way, using the PHP array: n_date, n_headline, n_summarytext, n_fulltext

Hi, In the code below (not pretty I know but it's an early version :-P) I'm having problems reading the data object back in. If I move the reading code to immediately after the section where it is written ( commented out in code) then it reads in OK. However, when I move the code to the right place ( as shown here) it throws an IO exception. Both the Filter class and it's constituent class implement Serializable and it would seem the...

I am learning C# and was wandering if there is a straightforward way to read a binary file created by C++. For example, I have a data structure as follows: typedef struct _data time_t date; int seq; char name; short bday; BOOL bIsWorking;

Hello everyone, I need help with reading data from database. I am working with Visual C++ and MS SQL 2005. This is the problem: I have tried to read some values from data base (on a way described below) and it worked when type of data is char, but when they are float it throws error. I know that I should do something with type of data but I don’t know how? Data in base are float, and I need to read it and write it in textBox, not important in...

Hello. I'm having problems reading data from a socket. In my test, I see the maximum size to get data from the socket is 8192 bytes. In my tests, if I send less that 8192, the readen data have the expected size. But, if I send more than 8192, my code has a loop, and the second time it reads from the socket, it reads 8192 bytes again, instead that only the bytes not read before. I hope you can understand the problem. Here is some code...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
