Saving to a database

Hi,

Is it possible to save to a database as opposed to saving to a flat .txt
file? It could be any database program, such as FoxPro (preferably), SQL
Server, MySQL. Furthermore, I would also like to know if I would also be
able to retrieve information from these databases?

TIA

I believe it is possible. If it weren't, how would we have all
those databases?

C++ language (the only subject of this newsgroup) has no mechanisms
for database access. You need to ask either in a database newsgroup
or in a newsgroup for programming your OS or your compiler. I do
strongly recommend the former. There is a host of newsgroups on
Usenet with names starting with 'comp.database'

Has anyone had a problem with Access 2003 not saving their coding? I've been using 2003 for a couple of months now and just this week noticed that some coding I'd done for a database was not there anymore. I reentered it and didn't have any problems for a couple of days. Today I entered some coding, saved it, opened another database, and when I opened my original database again, the coding I had entered was missing. Access 2000 always...

Since googling this issue only brings up the April fool's problem, which was solved years ago, I hope that somebody can help me with this. I have a large vc++/mfc application which needs to know when DST is in effect. This has been working fine for years, but I am worried about the upcoming change in 2007 in the US, which will be followed by a number of Canadian provices (where my application is used). The function that I use is very...

My question is similar to one someone posted a few months back, but I don't see any replies. Basically I want to be able to have users upload photos and save them in a database (as byte data) and be able to load them to an image webcontrol, but system.web.ui.webcontrols.image only seems to have a control to load the image from a URL. There's no way to load this directly without saving the image as a file and then using...

Hi, all. This might be a silly question... but I am very new to programming in SQL so please bear with me :) So. I'm using MS SQL Server 2005 Management Studio Express. I have a table that was created via an existing .sql file. Included were a bunch of stored procedures. I went in to re-format these procedures. (They were written in haste by another programmer. It is my task to go back and improve their readabilities.) However, I am...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
