Hey. I've got a color photo in a simple unsigned charRGB array. The photo
does not exist on disk. I want to display the photo in my window.
The application I am working in (not my choice) demands that I draw into the
display by first creating a Bitmap, and then drawing into a DisplayContext
using BitBlt(). The pseudocode looks something like:
// Create an empty bitmap:
HDC hScreen = GetDC (0);
pHandle = CreateCompatibleBitmap...

From what I have read, there isn't really a converter to icon format..it
becomes a png file. I tried:
1: Dim bmp As Bitmap = CType(Bitmap.FromFile("C:\myfolder\file.bmp"),
Bitmap)
2: Dim ico As Icon = Icon.FromHandle(bmp.GetHicon())
3: Dim file As FileStream = New
FileStream("C:\myfolder\file.ico",FileMode.OpenOrCreate)
4: ico.Save(file)
5: file.Close()

Hello!
I have IDC_BUTTON_CONTROL (Button Control) and IDB_BITMAP1 (Bitmap) in
my resource file for my Visual C++ GUI application. I want to connect my
IDB_BITMAP1 with IDC_BUTTON_CONTROL (put bitmap on button). I set
Bitmap=True on Properties for Button Control, but I haven't found where I
can connect bitmap with button. How to do this?
Thanks in advance!

I have developed a standard .NET control which displays medical images and
works fine in applications, but increasingly, my customers are wishing to use
it in an ASP.NET environment, so I am looking to make a WebControl based
equivalent.
So, assuming that I need to render using HTML - how can I pass "bitmap" data
into such a control for it to be displayed. I'm open to all possible routes,
but I've not yet found one which works. Ideas...

I am passing in a reference to a window handle, followed by the height
and width as well into my method. I am then creating a Device Context
using the window handle and converting the window in a bitmap saved in
memory. What I am trying to accomplish is generating a checksum value
and returning that value from the bitmap stored in memory, but I cannot
solve this problem. The method is designed to given a window handle,
height, and...

Hi everybody,
I'm trying to use the new VB 2008 right now and I want to know how to preset
the company name and copyright informtion in Assembly Information. In my
current VB 2005, company name and copyright information (the word "CopyRight"
with company name and year) is filled in automatically once a new project is
created. However, I have no idea where I can configurate it in my new VB
2008.
Thanks for your kindly advice!

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
