Hi,
I've already posted a question similar but will need some precisions and
help.
I have a rtf file displayed within a RTB control. Above it, I have a text
box control with a scroller which helps me to increase/decrease numbers
inside it by clicking. (There should be a shorter name for this control!!!)
What I want is: Whenever I click the increase the number button, the

Hi ! I wonder if anyone can give me some advice. I have been in IT for 30
yrs. Most of the time I have coded in Cobol on medium size systems (Data
General, now a dinosaur). For the past 2 years I have coded in a
proprietary, object-oriented language called Graphtalk(CSC). I have been
studying JAVA and need very much to get into a shop that will allow me to
improve and enhance my abilities with JAVA. As we all know, most companies
want...

Hi.
Recently I made a small script to do some file transferring (among other
things). I wanted to monitor the progress of the file transfer, so I needed
to know the size of the files I was transferring. Finding out how to get
this information took some time (reading the manuals - googling did not
prove worthwhile). Anyway, I did eventually figure out how to do it (there
are a few ways, including os.path.getsize(filename)).
My...

What would be the common sense way of finding a binary pattern in a
..bin file, say some 200 bytes, and replacing it with an updated pattern
of the same length at the same offset?
Also, the pattern can occur on any byte boundary in the file, so
chunking through the code at 16 bytes a frame maybe a problem. The
file itself isn't so large, maybe 32 kbytes is all and the need for
speed is not so great, but the need for accuracy in the...

Are there standard macros that a (c99) compliant compiler should support?
I note that in the c99 std that __FILE__ __LINE__ __func__ are
mentioned, but others (that seem to be built in to every compiler I
currently use) like __DATE__ __TIME___ don't appear. Presumably,
__TIME__ etc are just simply 'popular' rather than required?

I have a Perl script using DBD::DB2, that runs during system startup on
a Solaris system. The script is working fine during startup on many
machines, except on one machine it fails complaining about a missing
".so" file, with Perl flagging the "use DBD::DB2" line. (I don't have
the exact message since I'm heard about it from a remote sysadmin who
only saw it scroll by on the console). However, if I login as root on
that machine and run...

Hello,
Using any of the ASP.NET session storage techniques, is there a method in
one of the HTTP objects that you can get the list of active (not abandoned
or timed out) session keys (and maybe other information about these
sessions)?
I assumed there would be a collection somewhere which held all of the active
session keys but I'm not finding it anywhere.

Hi there!
I'm using PHP to create a simple, dynamic MySQL SELECT query.
The user chooses a selection from a HTML Form SELECT element's many options
and submits the form via a POST action.
The SELECT query is built as follows:
$itemtype = stripslashes(trim($_POST));

in an old version of C++
Any terms i use like list that follow are used in their common everyday
usuage!
One of the programmes features is that it displays a list. The contents
of this list are the names of people that are logged into the

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
