PZ
OSS 2005
The First International Conference on Open Source Systems
Genova, July 11 - 15, 2005

CALL FOR PANELS
http://oss2005.case.unibz.it

Submissions of panels are solicited for the "First International
Conference on Open Source Systems, OSS2005", to be held in Genova,
Italy from the 11th to the 15th of July 2005.

Open Source Software (OSS) development has emerged in the last decades
as one of the most important phenomenon of computer science and
engineering. It has been instrumental for education and research in the
Academia, providing free access to essential tools, such as compilers,
word processors, spreadsheets, etc, it has changed the way people
perceive the software business, and it has often kept the software
market away from monopolies. As such, a deep understanding of OSS
requires the understanding of a wide spectrum of issues.

The goal of OSS2005 is be a holistic forum on OSS where to
convey people interested in OSS and coming from a widely
diverse background.

Therefore, OSS2005 will be a forum to discuss theories, practices,
experiences, and tools on development and applications of OSS systems,
with specific focus on two aspects:
(a) the development of open source systems and the
underlying technical, social, and economics issue
(b) the adoption of OSS solutions and the implications of such
adoption both in the public and in the private sector.

OSS2005 will bring together people from industry, public
administration,
and academia to share experiences and ideas and to provide an archival
source for important papers on open source topics.

The conference is also meant to provide information and education to
practitioners, identify directions for further research, and to be an
ongoing platform for technology transfer.

The conference will consist of technical presentations, panels, poster
sessions, workshops, tutorials, PhD and an Open Educational Symposium.
CONFERENCE TOPICS
The conference will stress practical applications and implications of
OSS. Conference topics include, but are not
limited to:
- Foundations and rationale of Open Source Software

Hi, I want to display different forms when the buttons are clicked and all the forms are having different controls on it. So instead of adding new windows forms to the project, i enlarged the form and used many panels on the same form, which i think is easier to manage. However, i am having problems. Should i need to put the panels on the same location on the design layout? i put the panels at different places and it doesn't get...

I have a TreeView control in the left panel of a SplitContainer. When I click on various nodes in the TreeView I would like different sets of buttons and textboxes to appear in the right panel. Is this doable? Also, it seems that the TreeView nodes do not have a click event. Is that correct? Thanks, J.S.

I'm trying to determine if we want to use panels or user controls for our pages. Our primary concern is performance, page loading and posting speed. To illustrate my question, lets use the Customer Orders scenario: Problem: User needs to view orders and and edit, add, save on one page called Orders.aspx. To begin with the page contains a grid with basic information about an order. The user can click a row to edit or click an "Add"...

I am having problems tabbing between controls, it appers to be when the controls are within panels: It will tab though the controls outside the panels and then, tab into the panels. I have also tried setting the tab index at design time.

I'm using VS 2005, SQL 2005 reporting services. SQL reporting services is working, and I have it both on my local computer, as well as on a server. I've created a report in the SQL Business Intelligence development studio that works in that environment. I've uploaded the same report to both the Reporting services on my local computer as well as the server, and can log in to them and run the

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
