[g++ mingw eclipse] How do I setup Eclipse to use MinGw's g++ compiler?

I've just downloaded and installed Eclipse and the C++ plugin (CDT).
The editor looks really good!
However, I do not know how I should integrate my MinGw g++ compiler with
Eclipse. I hope that someone on this list has already setup this environment
and is also willing to share the knowledge!

Thanks in advance!

Hi, When compiling Sketch's streamfilter C extension the errors below are raised during linking. What could cause the errors? (Python 2.3, MinGw 1.1 with GCC 2.95.3-6, Windows 98) Here are the occurrences of FilterType that may be relevant: ------- C:\sketch\sketch-0.7.12\Filter\filterobj.c: 949: PyTypeObject FilterType = {

I'm attempting to follow the instructions at http://sebsauvage.net/python/mingw.html, without luck. I have Python 2.3, MinGW 3.2.3, ans SWIG 1.3.19. I get an export error on "initexample" when attempting the example. Do I need some extra switches to get SWIG to create that function? Or is it something else? Here's my example build:

I'm trying to understand and document how to install pypar on Win2k. Pypar needs to be installed with some MPI library code and also needs libpython23.a and other files which are not included with the python Windows binary installation. I've got that worked out but still no success. Here's the error message I'm seeing: >python setup.py install >running install

I have both mingw and cygwin on a Windows machine. I have installed Eclipse, with the CDT, and written a 'Hello World' test program. I would like Eclipse to use the mingw complier but looking through the project's settings Eclipse seems to have created its own PATH variable with c:/cygwin/bin ahead of a suitable path to the mingw binaries. I can't figure out how to tell Eclipse that I do not want c:/cygwin /bin in the path (editing...

Hi, I am using Eclipse C++ on Windows with MinGW for linkage. Can you tell me why the libraries used by MinGW (in the \MinGW\lib directory) have a .a extension, wich is unix library extension? I thought that MinGW would use .lib libraries. Thank you.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
