Looking for IDL generator.

I have an existing set of applications containing hundreds of structures

coded in C++ which I need to translate into IDL. Does anyone know of
any software which can do this job? Shareware or freeware would be
preferable, but any and all suggestions are appreciated.

Hi Mike,

I think Borland provide a tool to reverse engineer your C++ into IDL.
Also, there's a dude at IONA that has a similar tool (I think).
comp.object.cor ba is where you'll get him.

To do this, you basically need a full C++ compiler front end,
followed by a custom code generator that spits IDL for each
desired data item.

The DMS Software Reengineering Toolkit can be obtained with such a C++ front
end, and is designed to be customized for such tasks like this.

A little annoyed one day that I couldn't use the statefulness of generators as "resumable functions", I came across Hettinger's PEP 288 (http://www.python.org/peps/pep-0288.html, still listed as open, even though it's at least a year old and Guido doesn't seem very hot on the idea). I'm not too sure of its ideas on raising exceptions in generators from outside (although it looks like it might be convenient in some cases), but being able...

I'm attempting to turn some process than uses callback to return result into a more user friendly generator. I'm hitting some road block so any pointer would be appriciated. Let say there is an existing method producer(x, cb). It calls the supplied cb() every time when there is data available. The definititon of cb should be: def cb(data)

Hi, I'm trying to figure out what is the most pythonic way to interact with a generator. The task I'm trying to accomplish is writing a PDF tokenizer, and I want to implement it as a Python generator. Suppose all the ugly details of toknizing PDF can be handled (such as embedded streams of arbitrary binary content). There remains one problem, though: In order to get random file access, the tokenizer should not simply spit out a series...

Hello I am looking for python code that takes as input a list of strings (most similar, but not necessarily, and rather short: say not longer than 50 chars) and that computes and outputs the python regular expression that matches these string values (not necessarily strictly, perhaps the code is able to determine patterns, i.e. families of strings...).

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
