The old anagram problem with open address hashing HS77154

Anybody think there is a way to solve the anagram problem (reading in
a dictionary of words and printing out the anagrams for all words)
with an open address hash table as opposed to a chained hash table?

Open addressing and chaining are two different ways of implementing the
same functionality. So of course anything that can be solved with chaining
can also be solved with open addressing.

Did you have a question about C++?

The current Python standard library provides two cryptographic hash functions: MD5 and SHA-1 . The authors of MD5 originally stated: It is conjectured that it is computationally infeasible to produce two messages having the same message digest. That conjecture is false, as demonstrated by Wang, Feng, Lai and Yu in 2004 . Just recently, Wang, Yu, and Lin showed a short- cut solution for finding collisions in SHA-1 . Their result

Hello all! We are building applications here and have hashing algorithms to secure secrets (e.g passwords) by producing one way hashes. Now, I've read alot and I've followed most of the advice that made sense. One comment I've seen alot about is "securing the hashing routine" but no-one explains how to accomplish this. So how do I secure my hashing routine? Do I use code access security, role based security, ACLs, etc or combination?...

Hi, This started off being a question along the lines of "how do i get the local machine ip address?", which can be done using .... String sIPAddress = Dns.Resolve(System.Environment.MachineName).AddressList.ToString unfortunately, the bit reminded me that a computer can have more than one IP (technically, i hadn't forgotten, it had just become obfuscated due to the hashing effect of alcohol).

Is there a better way to search identical elements in a sorted array list than the following: iIndex = Array.BinarySearch( m_Array, 0, m_Array.Count, aSearchedObject ); aFoundObject= m_Array; m_ResultArray.Add ( aFoundObject);

im trying to make a program thats supposed to check whether 2 strings are anagrams of each other (anagram = same letters in both strings, but in different orders... Hi All, I wrote a program that takes a string sequence and finds all the words inside a text file (one word per line) and prints them: def anagfind(letters): #find anagrams of these letters fin = open('text.txt') #one word per line file wordbox = #this is where the words will go for line in fin: word = line.strip()

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
