Hi,
I have a working windows service,it is looking for files on the disk
and when some of the files are cupdated it calls an executable. But it
takes a lot of time(about 10 minutes) to run the executable. So while
that executable is running,if I try to stop the windows service while
the executable(MYPROGRAM.EXE) is running,it will wait for a time(about
20 seconds) for the main windows thread to abort. If it does not finish
its work, the...

Hi!
This issue have been discussed a lot, but I haven't found a solution that
applies to ASP.NET. I have a library which does some operations on Excel
documents, and it will be used in an ASP.NET application. If I use the
library in a Forms application, the Excel process is removed when the
cleanup operations are done, but with ASP.NET all possible ways to clean up
fails.
The following code has been tried:

I have a problem in communicating between the C# and the Excel Interop
objects. The problem is something as described below.
I use Microsoft Office-XP PIA dll’s as these dll’s were been recommended by
many for web applications. I create the instances of Excel, Workbook and the
worksheet. And later on Release the references by
“System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal.ReleaseComObject(Object)” and making
the object as null finally....

Hello All,
I have been caching an object in a web app and I am running the web app on
my localhost i.e., local machine which has its own IIS web server. Now my
question is if I access web application from my localhost where would that
cached object live? Is it in web server's memory OR inside the worker process?
I am assuming that the cache objects are stored in web server's memory. But
interestingly everytime I close my browser (only...

Is there a way to catch the event of terminating the application from the the
processes tab in task manager?
I have created windows app, and if a user termintates the app in the task
manager, I'd like to be notified. I tried few combinations of Close, Closing,
Application.Exit method, ApplicationExit Event, etc, but nothing seems to be
working.
Thanks in advance

Hi Fellows,
I have a problem with process termination. I have a python code that
apache runs through a django interface.
The code is very simple, first, it creates a process with the
subprocess.Popen call, and afterwards, (using a web request) the
python code uses the PID of the previously created process(stored in a
db) and kills it with an os.kill call using the SIGKILL signal.
The creation of the process is ok, apache calls the...

Hi,
Overview
=======
I'm doing some simple file manipulation work and the process gets
"Killed" everytime I run it. No traceback, no segfault... just the
word "Killed" in the bash shell and the process ends. The first few
batch runs would only succeed with one or two files being processed
(out of 60) before the process was "Killed". Now it makes no

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
