Infrared prob.

pnp
Hi, I'm trying to develop an application that reads the IR port on my
laptop pc (winxp.sp2) so that it can receive beams from a remote control
(tv, video,..) and do certain stuff when a button is pressed. The
problem is that I cannot use my IR because it is supposed to be on a
virtual port? How can I read that port, from an app that reads COM
ports? Any suggestions?
