Hi Simo,

Framework 2.0 will be out "sometime" 2005. I'm guessing, maybe 2nd or 3rd
quarter, although it could easily be 1st or 4th.

As for the certifications, unless something new has happened they don't
reflect which version of the framework you did so you can go ahead and do
the exams today as the questions are valid for all versions.

The information I have picked up from Microsoft's development team that are
blogging stated the DNF 2.0 Beta 2 will be released with a 'go live' license
which for all intents and purposes IMO will be the 'official' release for
those who want to assume any risks of deploying early bits.

As for that release another blog from the same source made comments about
final beta 2 testing was expected to be complete in 'three weeks' indicating
the next beta may be released any day now, perhaps as early as sometime in
December of 2004.

I wouldn't worry about that until the middle of next year

The exams focus on the most commonly used features of the language. There
might be some new questions when framework 2.0 arrives but I'd doubt there
would be a MCSD.NET 2. MCSD(or MCAD) doesn't say which version of the
framework you learnt.

At the IT Forum in Copenhagen last week, the semi-official word was "Summer
2005."
