Daniel,
The easiest way to send messages/notifications to a windows service,
IMO, is to use remoting, and then just call the appropriate methods on the
proxy that you acquire when hooking up to your service. You will get a
familiar way to receive notifications (method calls), and you don't have to
worry about all of the plumbing in between.
