I know this problem has a very simple answer, but I've checked the web and I
don't understand the answers that I've found.
How do I return text from a standard Linux command?
For example: I want to read the stdout results of a typical linux command
(such as "df") into a Python variable.
I've tried these techniques:

Hi,
On my local development machine, my IE Web Controls only show the text I
use for the Tabstrip labels. I know the code is good because when I upload
to production, the tabs
show up correctly with style and functionality.
Anybody experience this one? I do have all my image folders in the same
position as
when I copy to production.

I have a form that has a list box of simple processes that don't need a
visual form. The for would only have a button that said start on it if
it did.
So when I call this class and run the process For example download a
daily file from an FTP site. I want the class to update a richtextbox
on the calling form with its progess for each step.
I can't use "Dim withevents." Case 1 is my problem.

Hi all,
Is there any decent way to stop a Web Service from serializing it's
return value to XML? Here's an example of what I mean.
I have a WebMethod that returns a string. The output is actually:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<string
xmlns="http://somedomain/services/myservice.asmx">{"Result":"-1","Pnref":null}</string>

Hello All:
I am currently working on a project to create an FEM model for school.
I was thinking about using wxPython to gather the 12 input variables
from the user, then, after pressing the "Run" button, the GUI would
close, and the 12 input variables would then be available for the rest
of the program.
So far, what I have been able to do is mostly a reverse engineering
job to get the frame to look right and return the text variable...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
