Hi,
I know that some older Unix programs that compile with GCC use socket.h to
connect to and execute other programs. However, I am using Visual C++ 6.0
and it doesn't seem to have socket.h included. Is there any standard
cross-platform way (ie can compile in both Visual C++ 6 and GCC) to execute
and connect to other programs?

I need to add the ability to drag from a Windows Form and drop into a
non dotNet application. For example, having a generated image in my
app that I wish to drag out into explorer as a friendly way to save
it.
I have tried creating the object that I place into the DoDragDrop() by
inheriting the COM interfaces IDropSource and IDataObject with no
luck. If anyone can help I am very much open to suggestions.

Hi,
I have a form that when opened in the designer appears of the screen. The
form selector can't be dragged (or resized) and if I scroll right and down
to centralise it the form simply jumps further away, completely leaving the
selector box area.
Any ideas? VS 2003 and VB.Net

maximise button invisible and have minimisise button instead of it.
Like this _ X (not like _ o X )
How to do this... and eventually i want to modify the control box in
the form of ? _ X ... I.e. adding a new button to control box. I need

In vb.net, how do I show or activate a different windows form other than the one that is currently active? I've set up my project so that the default form is a form with several command buttons. Each button, when clicked will show or activate a different windows form. The problem is that I cannot find the correct code/syntax to write for the command button that causes a different windows form to be displayed. Any help is much appreciated........

With VS2005 the windows form designer uses the files *.Designer.vb
I hope no one at MS is reading this because I know it will upset them to
know - I like the old way better!
I've been looking at the Options available for the Windows Form Designer and
do not see one that would give me the older method.
Is there such an option?

How do you keep a form on top of an application only.
I know that I can use "TopMost" to keep a form on top of the other
forms, but that solution is Windows scope instead of only my
application scope.
I have a floating "Totals" screen (among others) so that a user can
see which checks will print, total receipts, and other items. They can

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
