I'm currently working on a new version of py2exe, which will require
Python 2.3 and later, because it uses the zipimport mechanism.
Since py2exe is a distutils extension, and since C compilers are
commonly available on most platforms except Windows, it would be fairly
easy to let py2exe generate a C source file installing this import hook,
and let distutils' C compiler build an executable file from this.
Would this be useful, or would...

Hello pgsql-general,
I'm trying to implement a table with rows that are automatically
deleted when the session that inserted them disconnects, sort of like
our own alternative to pg_stat_activity. Is it possible and what
approach should I be trying to achieve such a thing?
Thanks!

To anyone who is smarter than I am when it comes to WMI:
Here is what I am trying to do:
1) Detect a USB pen drive when it is inserted
2) Retrieve the drive letter of the pen drive
3) Check for a specific folder on the pen drive
I keep receiving an error message that reads:
An unhandled exception of type 'System.ExecutionEngineException'

I know this is probably not the proper newsgroup to ask this question,
but I do not know which one is. And most of you guys here know a lot
about windows programming so I am taking a chance some one here may be
able to answer this simple question.
If I burn a CD/DVD and include a file in the root of the burned disk
called Autorun.inf and the contents of it is:
open=C:\Program Files\myProgram.EXE

I am having issues viewing flash that has been inserted via javascript in Internet Explorer. I had to uninstall my flash about a week ago. I've since reinstalled flash and reinstalled flash player for all my browsers. All flash shows where it hasn't been inserted via javascript (ie. youtube.com) but javascript flash is not showing at all in IE. Firefox is working fine. Any help in resolving this issue for IE would be greatly appreciated.

Hi all,
This one's driving me up a wall!
We have a small office network, Windows SBS 2003, nothing fancy - recently upgraded from an old Compaq running Novell. Back in the day we used the "F" and "G" drive letters for our main network drives. This worked wonderfully until we started using flash drives recently - replacing floppies for portable data movement.
Seems that, even tho we have 2 mapped drives as "F" and "G" Windows (XP and...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
