Hi all,
In VS2008 when I want to add a new assembly to a solution, Visual
Studio is, by default, creating a new directory with the same name as
the assembly. In previous versions of Visual Studio this functionality
could be disabled, in this version I can't seem to get it to stop
doing this. Any ideas?
thanks,

Hi
Did you check in Tools/Options?
I know the checkmark still exist for solutions. not sure for projects
though. This thread has been closed and replies have been disabled. Please start a new discussion. Similar topics |

Hi there.
In the code editor, when I "shrink" the code so that I have a + sign to
expand it back, if I save my project/solution, when opening it back, it is
all expanded. Is there any way so the editor keeps my settings?
I've look in the options but can't find anything.. Any help would be
appreciated.

I have a multi-project solution imported from VS 2003. It includes an exe
and several dlls.
If I add a method to a class in a DLL project, and then call it from exe
project, this is picked up by intellisense and I can successfully compile.
However when I try to debug I get a MissingMethodException on the call to
the new method (it is a public method of a public class, so it is not a
visibility issue).
I've tried Clean, and rebuilding...

Hello,
In my C# solution the MathsUtility Project uses a few fortran DLLs.
What is the correct way to specify the dependancy of these DLLs?
Initially I just stuck the DLLs in a directory on the System Path,
this is a disaster as far as running different versions of the
Solution (sometimes a bug gets reported and I might want to run an old
version along side a new version, the DLLs may be different).

Is there a conveninent place to go to search the entire project/
solution for specific occurances of text. for instance, if I want to
find where all occurences of "counter" was in my project, is there a
search that will return a results set of the references?
Thanks!

Does anyone have any idea why my 2005 solution is choosing to rebuild,
everytime i execute any project within its space?
There's nothing overly strange with the project assemblies within, a
few class libraries, a couple of console apps, one custom setup
project and one windows installer project.
i've never seen this behavior before, and i've checked all the
projects' settings that i can think of.

Hi, guys,
I add some new projects. No source file, but only some copy operation
in Post Event.
The project is to do some file deployment for some third party
library.
When I compile the solution, VC assumes the project is always out of
date and execute the Post Event always. It’s boring, the copy
operation will happen always, even if there is no modification in the
solution.

Hello All,
Yes, I'm back again on this subject.
I've started again to set up the solution and I can, if you like, move
deeper into the program, accessing various forms as I go BUT I cannot for the
life of me work out how to get back. I have set "CommonForms" in the
Properties/References of StartUp.
Just working with two projects "StartUp" & "CommonForms" I place a parent

I know this is a vs issue but nobody seems to answer posts over there...
In VS 2008 I can't seem to get a multiple project solution. If I create a
blank solution and add a project to it, it becomes just a project with not
solution node at the top so I can't "add a project" to the node. If I add a
project from the file menu it becomes that new project. I'm using Vista.
Anyone have a clue?
Thanks,
Gary

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
