objectdatasourc e fires automatically.. .

Hi there,

when you put a objectdatasourc e control and set the selectmethod in
the page the grid is filled immediatly after page loads.

Is there a way to fill the grid from the code-behind C# with manual
firing the object datasource? I mean I would like assigne object
datasource to a submit button and when I click the submit button that
should fire the objectdatasourc e and fill the grid iso automatically
when page opens....

any help would be appreciated ?

thanks
mesut

I am using a formview with an ObjectDatasource in ASP .Net 2.0. Everything works fine until I try the delete. The ItemDeleting event fires, so I know it should fire my delete method, but instead I get an error: No parameterless constructor defined for this object, and the delete method is never called. Anyone have any ideas?

I am passing the whole object instead or parameters in my select and update methods. I can get the updated object if I set UpdateMethod, let ASP.NET autogenerate an update button, and then press update after making changes, but I don't want that update button. How can I get the updated object when the user presses one of my other action buttons?

I keep getting this error when trying to update records using an ObjectDataSource. I have seen others post similar errors...but I haven't found any solutions. ObjectDataSource 'ObjectDataSource1' could not find a non-generic method 'UpdateProduct' that has parameters: ProductName, UnitPrice, ProductId. I have been unable to work through this. Any ideas? I’m using code pasted directly from this page:

Hi I'm trying to get an instance of UserLists to persist after it's been used by the GridView. I understand from the documentation that The OnObjectCreated event allows access to the instance. I have a TotalUsers property which is initiated when the GetUsers method is called, however it is empty after the OnObjectCreated event runs. What am I doing wrong? Is there a way to get the Row count from the GetUsers method (It is a DataTable)?...

I'm using an ObjectDataSource with a stored procedure and am getting the following error when trying to update (ExecuteNonQuery): System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Procedure or Function 'UpdateRegistrant' expects parameter '@EMail', which was not supplied. The field value was null in the database and not changed in the FormView so is null going back into the stored procedure. I'm stumped and would greatly appreciate any suggestions.

Hi, Recently, my site has been generating errors which say: "Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to obtaining a connection from the pool. This may have occurred because all pooled connections were in use and max pool size was reached." I'm wondering if this might have something to do with the way that we use objectdatasource objects.

Hi ALL, I wonder if anyone has been using n-tier to bind to a GridView control by using the ObjectDataSource. This is our first OOP web application, and we have no tables. Right now we are simply working with objects in memory. So, it appears as though Microsoft requires that our datamapper classes reside inside a folder called "App_Code", and NO WHERE ELSE. So, has anyone successfully been able to place their datamappers in a...

Tried this over in CSharp.General and didn't get anything, so I thought I'd try again here. If there's an AJAX specific group I could ask this in, please let me know...I did look. I'm trying to code what I think is a fairly typical Master/Detail scenario with two GridViews, using AJAX. Using the Northwind sample, I have two ObjectDataSources - one which pulls data from the Orders table, and one that pulls the related data from . Each...

Hi, I have a search result GridView bound to an ObjectDataSource. Once I open the asp.net page, the ObjectDataSource automatically refreshes the GridView which is the default behavior. I am trying to disable automatic query feature in ObjectDataSource, such that it query the database only when the user click on Search button. Is there anyway to prevent ObjectDataSource query the database when the page

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
