For some reason, when I click the X to close my MDI parent form, the action
appears to be re-directed to one of the MDI child forms, and the parent
remains open. I am then unable to close the application.
What should happen, is that the main MDI form should close, taking the child
forms with it. There is code to loop through the child forms, remove the
controls on each of them, and then close the form, but this code should
execute only...

Hello,
How do I create a Parent-Child relationship between two DataGridView in
a form using TableAdapters. The two tables already have a relationship
defined in the dataset.
What event do I use to update the child dgv? The RowEnter event?
Thank you,

Hello,
How do I open a child form (with a dataGridView) from a parent form. I
want the child form to be opened with the related table from the
selected row in the dataGridView.
The dataGridViews are populated with a tableAdapter. The relationship
is based on a primary key.
Thank you,

I have an application that works well, with two DataGridViews connected with
the necessary BindingSources, DataTables etc to have one DataGridView act as
the parent and the other as the child in the standard way.
Whenever the parent record changes, the data displayed in the child
DataGridView changes appropriately. However the first record in the child
DataGridView is always highlighted as the 'current record' and I would like
to have...

VS 2005
I' m setting up a parent/child datagridviews in a form.
I am doing a lot of this by hand coding in order to get the feel of things.
I want a change in the parent table to trigger a change in the child.
Where is the best place (if I cannot set it up to be automatic through
relationships) to catch the change in the parent to refetch the child rows?

The code below is pretty simple. Calling Talker() in the parent returns
"Parent", and calling Talker() in the child returns "Child".
I'm wondering how I can modify the code so that a call to the Talker() in
Parent will call the Talker() method in every child class. The kicker is that
I have many different Child classes, and not all Child classes will be loaded
when Talker() in the Parent is called.
Thanks,
Randy

Forgive me if this has been already asked an answered, I did do a
search both here and in VS2005 Help, but I can't find the answer to my
question.
I am developing an MDI application that is a speciality XML file
editor, used to create and edit a special XML file. It is an MDI app
since I want users to be able to have multiple XML files open at the
same time.
The parent form has the usual Menu bar with a File menu that has the

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
