"Open .Net Command Window Here" context menu for Windows Explorer:
The reg file described below adds a new menu item to Windows Explorer's
context menu when you right-click over a folder (or the drive root). The
menu item text is "Open .Net Command Window Here". When you click it, it
opens a command window positioned at that directory and runs the
vsvars32.bat file to set the .Net Framework environment variable settings.
This makes it...

I would like to programmatically (from VB.NET or C#), manage items in
the windows explorer 'folder' context menu (right click menu). I need
an entry to be able to pass the folder path to my application. If I
can configure this using the .NET framework then that would be ideal,
using Win32 a close second. Modifying the registry would be ok but not
sure how safe this would be on future versions of windows. Any help
much appreciated.

I am wanting to replicate a linux feature that I can't seem to find
anywhere in windows as an addin or program. If anyone is familiar with
linux, if you right click on a folder or file, you get the option to
send to any other folder on your hard drive. For example, if I had a
file on my desktop that I wanted to send to
C:\Windows\system32\DirectX\Dinput, I wou;d have to open an explorer
windows and navigate there I could just right click...

How can I invoke the standard Windows Shell Context menu for a file or
folder from vb.net? I have a treeview with nodes in it representing
files and folders, as in windows explorer and when I right-click on a
node I would like to call the usual context menu that you get in
explorer. I have found lots of articles on the web detailing how to
add items to the context menu for explorer, but not how to access it
from VB.net

Well, I've spent the last 5 hours with Google, trying to find the answer
to this question--I have an app that needs to perform its operations on
a folder (or folder background) selected in Windows Explorer. I also
downloaded a 3rd-party app DLL (Fast Explorer) that lets me add my
own items to the context menu. So far, so good.
However, when I activate my app from the context menu, I can't
figure out how to pass the name of the...

I have a context menu which is shared between a TreeView and ListView
control (both controls show the same information, similar to how
Windows Explorer works, so it makes sense to use the same menu on both
views).
What i'm struggling to do when the menuItem_Click event is fired, is
to detect the TreeNode or ListViewItem that was originally right
clicked when the context menu was opened.
I can't just look at the selected item, because...

I'm hoping someone can offer some guidance regarding a concept I
have. I'm trying to perform the following within Windows Explorer:
1. Add an entry to the context menu which should be executed upon
right-click of a folder or right-click of an open white space within
the righthand pane.
2. Run the program that will create a pre-determined folder path --
possibly several folders deep -- within the folder that was originally...

Hi,
I have an application that processes files from the users hard disk. The
user is able to select what files they want processed from there hard disk
in windows explorer.
In windows explorer, when you right click on a file you are given the option
to 'send to'. I would like to have an option in this 'send to' menu so that
the user can 'send to' my application.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
