How can I use the designer to add a context menu to a class which inherits
from a control, e.g. treeview, without adding the context menu to a form?
For example, to add a context menu with "Select All" and "Clear Selection"
to a checked list box?
Thanks,
Aaron Queenan.

Sorry Ive added this twice (sortof) but if I'd added an addendum to the
first one then this would probably have been ignored.
This problem affects a ContextMenu attached to a NotifyIcon object. I don't
get the problem with context menus attached to list boxes etc.
Ive also seen a noticeable slow down in speed when the menu attempts to hide
after the problem occurs.
When I build a dynamic submenu on the first time round, it shows a nice...

Is there a way to modify the standard context menu shown when someone right
clicks in a windows text box and that would work for all open windows
applications?
The standard context menu for a text box has 6 items, undo, cut, copy,
paste, delete and select all. I would like to add one additional paste menu
that opens a new sub menu with several optional text items that could be
pasted. The items would be populated by my program but...

I have several context menu added to my forms. The forms are displaying
items in a list view.
When I click on an item in a list view, a popup context menu shows allowing
me to chese between editing or deleting the item from the list view. That
works fine.
However, I noticed that I can call the pop up context menu also by right
clicking on a list view item, just as it works by left clicking on it.
However it this case my application...

Hi,
I'm looking of a way (preferred - a ready class or dll) to customize
the context menu.
many application has more controls inside the context menu (like
textbox, sliders, checkbox, panel etc').
is there a way making this without writing my own context menu
(meaning, popup form or something) ?
Please don't post commercial products to this topic
thanks.

Hi,
I am creating C# application with Outlook integration. In the outlook
mail, I have to create new item "Fwd to AIA" in the Context menu. If they
click that item, it will display My list of users name window. Once user
selected any one of the name from this list, it will store the selected mail
for that user id in C:\. So that my AIA system will pick this file and
display in the system when user login in AIA. Do any one of you have any...

I'm working on a plotting control. The plotting control will have a context
menu with basic commands for "scaling", "zooming", etc. Is there a way
that, from the parent form, I can add more commands to the control's context
menu?
I'm envisioning a case where the control has a set of context menu items,
and the parent form also has a set of context menu items.
Thanks.

I have figured out how to add custom menu items to various buildin
context menus by looking at a project on CodeProject.com and then
doing some registry searches.
But I can't find how to add a complex menu item, that is, a menu item
that has a submenu, or possibly a sub-submenu.
I also cannot figure out how to tell windows just where in the menu
the new menu item should appear, or how to add a new separator line to
setoff the new menu...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
