When I develop my ASP.NET 1.1 application locally, the default form is
always "WebForm1.aspx." However, when I post the same application to a web
server, the default becomes "default.aspx."
Why is this and how can I change the default from "WebForm1.aspx" to
"default.aspx?"

Hi,
in asp.net , I set the start page to "myStartingPage.html"
when user get authenticated and the cookie is created, the following
statement is supposed to redirect him to the original requested url:
....... ..... .... ...
Dim url As String = FormsAuthentication.GetRedirectUrl(userID, true)
Response.Redirect(url)
but url value is always = "default.aspx" and there is no "default.aspx" in
the whole application.

I have the following default.aspx page that works properly.
However, what I want to do is to link the graphics within it (that are hard
coded now in the default web page) to our corporate website, which has the
same graphics rotated on a 30 day basis or so. They have a standard naming
convention where I know the 3 graphics are always going to be fa_mmyy.jpg,
am_mmyy.jpg, and ax_mmyy.jpg.

I just acquired a new customer who had an existing ASP classic Web site.
When I took over, I transferred all content to ASPX pages that have
different page names than the prior Web site had. I kept the original domain
name. Of course, google and other search engines indexed the old site. So,
while all links from search results will come to my new ASPX site, the links

I have a ASP web application running with CS2000.
It has Default page as default.asp
It also contains .NET ASPX pages, which will be called from ASP pages.
Can I convert the default ASP page into .NET ASPX Page(Default.aspx)?
(Tried with one sample page, page does not load!)

I have setup 2 servers (Windows 2003 Server SP1, latest hotfix) with IIS and .Net
Framework 1.1 and 2.0. None of the 2 servers have default.aspx listed as a default content
document even when there is a ASP.Net tab in the default web site properties.
I have selected the following options in Add Remove Windows Components when installing
IIS;

- IIS ].

Hi everybody,
I'm trying to use the new VB 2008 right now and I want to know how to preset
the company name and copyright informtion in Assembly Information. In my
current VB 2005, company name and copyright information (the word "CopyRight"
with company name and year) is filled in automatically once a new project is
created. However, I have no idea where I can configurate it in my new VB
2008.

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
