I've seen a few attractive multi-column sites whose geometry is based
on pure CSS-P, but they're what you might call "code afficionado"
sites, where the subject matter of the site is "coding practices." (One
example of this is alistapart.com.) However, the project/development
realities for small boutique sites are completely different from those
of large commercial or institutional sites -- and I was curious to see
what coding approaches...

I'm writing a program that will query an XML file with the XmlTextReader
class (the question is not specifically about XML, however). This file is
very large (maybe 20 MB at most), and during extreme conditions, it'll have
to be queried thousands of times (maybe 20,000 times at most). Small
fragments of this file are used to construct another file.
What is most economical, in terms of system resources? Opening and closing
the file +...

Hi, I'm doing a tree view which will show the file structure in an FTP
server. How can I get the standard windows icons for folders and files and
display them in the tree view control?
Do I need to find the particular image file, the save them in the image
list, or can I get the image file in runtime based on the user PC?
Please advice. Thanks.

I normally use a program call Doxygen to document my source
code.(http://www.stack.nl/~dimitri/doxygen)
This method works great for small and medium size projects, and you can
get good documentation like the following:

Now I'm on a client site, and I'm trying to create the same type of
documentation on a very large project.
I ran the Doxygen program, and it ran for over 16 hours, before I had

Hello,
from time to time I want to inspect the source code of projects
on remote computers.(*) I've googled for one or two hours but
didn't find anything helpful. :-/ I'm looking for something like
IDLE's path browser - i. e. a tree view and file view
side-by-side - but with the following differences:
- doesn't need an X connection to the remote computer where the
sources are

I help manage a large web site, one that has over
600 html pages... It's a reference site for ham radio
folks and as an example, one page indexes over
1.8 gb of on-line PDF documents.
The site is structured as an upside-down tree, and
(if I remember correctly) never more than 4 levels.
The site basically grew (like the creeping black blob) ...
all the pages were created in Notepad over the last

Hello,
Need your valuable inputs for this scenario. Any pointers would be
helpful.
I have large data set (few 100s of MB or sometimes may even go up to
GB). I populate a DOM tree using this data set and then write this DOM
tree to xml file.
How should one handle such large data set in xerces, as we cannot have
such a large DOM tree in memory. I have a following questions:

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
