Hello,
I would like to create a set of very similar regular expression. In
my initial thought, I'd hoped to create a regular expression with a
variable inside of it that I could simply pass a string into by
defining this variable elsewhere in my module/function/class where I
compile the regular expression, thus making for an easy substitution.
However, still after JFGI'ing, I still cannot find the syntax to place
a variable inside a...

Is there a regular expression to find the first unmatched right bracket
in a string, if there is one? For example,
"(1*(2+3))))".search(/regexp/) == 9
Thanks in advance.

Hello.
Say I have a .net textbox that uses a .net regularexpressionvalidator.
If the regular expression fails, is it possible to launch a small
client side javascript function to do something, such as change the
border color of the textbox to red? That would look quite nice: if
the expression fails, the red validator text is shown, plus the
textbox's border goes red.
TIA,

I see signs that the ASP.NET regular expression validator has a different
instruction set that the Find utility in VS 2003.
I am trying to use the VS2003 regular expression Find tool to test regular
expressions for use in a ASP.NET validator. The results I am getting are
inconsistent . What works in VS does not always work in ASP.NET and vice
versa. For example:
+({0,1})(*)

Say I have some string that begins with an arbitrary sequence of characters
and then alternates repeating the letters 'a' and 'b' any number of times,
e.g.
"xyz123aaabbaabbbbababbbbaaabb"
I'm looking for a regular expression that matches the first, and only the
first, sequence of the letter 'a', and only if the length of the sequence is
exactly 3.

Hello,
I need a regular expression to match a currency with its symbol, for example
Pound66.99 must return 66.99 or Pound(66.99) or Pound-66.99 or -66.99Pound
return -66.99 or any other combination return the decimal number.
I have created a regular expression, but it seems that it does not work if
the number is Pound66.99 but it works if the sign is after the number:
public static Decimal ConvertToDecimal(String str)

Hi,
I have a question regarding a regular expression within Regex.Split() method which will help me to break each line of code into tokens.
I'm trying to parse some lines of C# source code and split them into tokens.
My logic is very simple: construct a regular expression with 'operators and punctuators' which will serve as delimiters and split a string into array of tokens including those delimiters.
For example:
I have the...

Hey everyone,
For the regular expression gurus...
I'm trying to write a string matching algorithm for genomic
sequences. I'm pulling out Genes from a large genomic pattern, with
certain start and stop codons on either side. This is simple
enough... for example:
start = AUG stop=AGG
BBBBBBAUGWWWWWWAGGBBBBBB

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
