Hi to all!
I have developed a web part for SharePoint 2003 that allows navigation in
areas and sites. I have created the assembly with a strong name and I have
inserted it in the GAC. Until here no type of problem. All it works
correctly without any problems. After adding the assembly to the GAC, I can
recover the token of the public key that i use in areas and sites templates
for automatically inserting the web part in the pages when i...

It has been mentioned that a ghosted machine or a machine linked
by cable modem and USB may result in my reading a MAC address
other than one burned onto a NIC in the machine. That being the
case, I would have a problem.
I am using the following code. Blindly, I grabbed it from an old post
in this forum. It worked for me on one machine. I didn't give much
thought to situations in which I might be reading unreliable data.
If you know...

Hello,
First let me tell you that I'm very new to C# and learning as I go. I'm
trying to write a client application to communicate with a server (that I
didn't write). Each message from the server is on one line (\r\n at end) and
is formed as - each of
which is seperated by a space. Arguments with spaces in them are enclosed in
quotations.
So, I'm able to open a connection to the server. When I send a message to

Problem: I'm receiving the error "File or assembly name XXXXX or one of its
dependencies, was not found." when trying to execute code in an assmebly that
has both a strong-name and has been installed into the GAC.
We originally had this assembly without a strong-name and we were
successfully using it by referencing it when it was NOT in the GAC. The
assembly was built using the 1.0 framework and we were able to call it from
both 1.0...

Hello:
I'm trying to make sense of snk files, when to use, under what conditions to
regenerate new ones,...can someone take a look if these statemes make sense?
And then the final questions at the end that they first statements bring up
in my mind...
a) Because two developers, unbeknownst to each other, can end up releaseing
different dll's with the same name, one should sign an assembly with a unique
tag. right?

My unsigned DLL works in my project that references it as long as I
set Copy Local = true.
Now I have signed the DLL with the sn.exe generated keys but have not
yet moved the DLL into the GAC.
Can I use a strong named DLL outside the GAC with Copy Local = false
by providing a reference to the public key?
If yes to above, please tell me how to reference the public key within

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
