Hello,
I'm looking for a way to allow a client who clicks on a link the ability to
"adodb.stream" a multimedia file (mainly audio/wav) files, but the file they
would be accessing is outside the wwwroot (for security / traceability). I
don't want the "save as" box to open for streamable content. Basically I'm
trying to mimic the exact action, as if they had clicked a
www.mydomain.com/download.wav file, and allow the browser to open it...

Setting up Dev-C++ to build Allegro
Some people prefer to use the Dev-C++ distribution to make Allegro
programs. Dev-C++ is a neat development IDE and includes an updated
MingW32 compiler. Please do not unzip or install anything until
step 4.

Does anyone know of a 3rd party product that can be used to create
multimedia effects programmatically? I am looking for a component such
as a library or controls. Essentially I need an advanced component that
allows me to create dazzling visual and audio effects in my
applications. I don't want to write stuff with DirectX. The component
should already be able to provide a lot of visual effects such as
fading the GUI in or out, scrolling...

Hi,
I try to develop a .Net class library using managed c++ and have several
problems:
- If I use operator new, I get a linker error because operator new is
missing. Searching the web I found out, that this is a well known
problem which has to do with the initialization of the C/C++ runtime
libraries. The proposed workaround looks not very promissing. But why
would somebody use managed C++ is you could not use common C++ features?

Hello from a newbie,
I am trying to do some research on an upcoming project that involves reading
in audio files of various formats and using the audio signal as a source of
noise to generate pretty pictures. (like windows media player visual plugins.
I will be developing in C++ and was wondering if there are any packaged
libraries out there that I can use to read audio files encoded in different
formats and lets me easily access the...

Hello,
I need to write a C# multimedia application, and I am not sure which tools I
need. I have the C# compiler. The application is to write audio files to
attached MP3 players, through MTP. Is there a development kit, a product,
that will make my job a little easy? I searched msdn2, but it seems that
what Microsoft offers is beyond my capabilities.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
