Web Service - Proxy Authentication

Hello.

I have a C# application tha uses a Web Service to access/manage data in a
SQL Server 2005 database. I have installed it on several workstations (XP
Home, Vista Home) and it's working, except in one workstation. I get the
following error:

"The remote server returns an error: (407) Proxy Authentication Required. "

I've searchd google, and I found this:
http://www.eggheadcafe.com/forumarch...st24815468.asp

However, I am using the webservice on a diferent way:

--------------------
ServicoRemoto.S erviceSoapClien t srv = new ServicoRemoto.S erviceSoapClien t();

DataSet ds = srv.SomeMethod( );

--------------------
What can be the problem? And whay it works on all other workstations?

My network is behind a linux firewall, with proxy, but all the computers
(including the one where the problem is) are properly configured.

Thanks in advance.

Marco

Hi, I am consuing a web service in a VC7 application. I included the web service as a 'web reference' and calling it's method. Now I want my application to connect to the web service through a proxy server. Is this possible? if yes, how? I have searched but only found proxy use through C# (WebProxy class), nothing about VC++ 7.

Hello, I'm running an ASPX application "WebApplication1" which consumes a web service (service1.asmx) hosted on a machine with IP (128.1.7.x) . The web service is located in the intranet. The web methods can be invoked successfully if "WebApplication1" is located in machines with the same subnet (128.1.7.x). However, it fails if "WebApplication1" is hosted on

Hello all, I apologise in advance for the long windedness of this post, but I feel that if I am going to get any solution to this problem, it is important that I present as much information that will be useful in diagnosing the problem. This query is similar to some others on this discussion group, but none of them were resolved! Can anybody help: The issue is related to integrated authentication. First I'll describe a simple scenario not involving ISA server, which works as expected: The web service is hosted on a server in the same domain as my workstation with anonymous access denied, and integrated authentication enabled. If I access the web service using the...

Hello, I have an unmanaged VC7 app (ActiveX control implemented using MFC) calling a C# dotnet service. I'm using the VS2003 generated proxy class derived from CSoapSocketClientT. The activeX control works fine but when used through a proxy that requires authentication I end up getting 407 error. I tried using authentication schemes as suggested in most of the threads. CAtlHttpClient& httpClient = webserviceInst.m_socket;

Hi, we call a web service in an intranet environment. The target host is bypassed as of the IE setting. We retrieve the system proxy settings through "myService.Proxy = WebRequest.GetSystemWebProxy()". The host is in the isBypassed list of the proxy object. The proxy credentials are the default credentials of the login account (DefaultCredentials) and this account is able to browse to the web service via IE. But when we want to connect...

Now I have a web application, a web service and a SQL Server database. The Web application will invoke the web service, the web service invokes the SQL Server stored procedure. I let the web service run in an application pool which runs under a domain user, this domain user has permissions of accessing database and the connection to database is trusted connection. All these work well. The web application will be used in internet (not...

I wrote a VS 2005 C# express programme that accesses a web service. Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
