Consume WebService HelloWorld CSharp in ASP.NET

I was just trying to consume the simple HelloWorld webservice that
comes in Visual Studio 2005 with a simple ASP.NET WebSite.

We have created the web reference to the url that serves the
HelloWorld Service and have invoked the response ...

How do we call and post this "Hello World" response string from the
service inside the ASP.NET Default.aspx.cs file?

Anyone have a simple example??

(just to clarify - in real code "localhost" etc would be a bit better
named!)

I have a HelloWorld webservice that works on my IE browser. But, when I add a webreference to it and call the HelloWorld method from my WindowsFormsApp (return in C#), I get error messages. The error messages differ depending on when I restart my machine. RIGHT AFTER RESTART: 'WindowsApplication1.exe': Loaded 'oevrvyg9', No symbols loaded. A first chance exception of type 'System.NullReferenceException' occurred in system.dll

Howdy, I wrote a web service in .Net for my customer. My customer has another vendor who now has to consume it but they are not using Visual Studio. Most of their pages are jsp, and they said they need to consume this web service using HTTP. The developer's IDE is Notepad. Yeah, weird I know. How is this done? I guess if I can get it to run ASP, IDE independant, that should make them happy. Any references you can point me to?

This is only a model program, because it would take too long to demonstrate the real solution. Anyway, I have 3 projects - ClassLibrary1, ConsoleApplication1 and WebSite1 (which hosts webservice). ClassLibrary1 looks like this: ------------------------------------------------ using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Text;

Hello. I have a webservice located on a machine within our network. I have developed and tested this webservice internally without having to worry about credentials. Now I wish for web applications located on a server outside the network to be able to consume this webservice. I do not want to put the webservice outside the network, and only want to allow a handful of web applications to be able to consume it. The error I'm getting...

Hello, I am attempting to call a (Delphi) win32 DLL from a Delphi.Net webservice. I am using a slightly modified version of the hello world webservice that comes with Delphi 2006. The DLL works fine when called from a win32 app. The problem I am encountering is that the string being returned to the caller is in Chinese (No, I'm not kidding). (I need it to be in English). Background: The DLL uses 3 pchar parms, 2 in and one out. In...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
